Congratulations to Our February Good Relative Award Winners! In partnership with The Keya Foundation we work to recognize our students on a monthly basis!
March’s theme celebrated students who showed generosity this month. These students were nominated by school staff from Cheyenne-Eagle Butte (C-EB) for generosity! Winners were selected by grade through a Spin-the-Wheel tool. Please join us in congratulating and feel free to tag family members of students listed to share in the recognition of their exemplary qualities!
⭐Aisleigh Potter, Grade 5th, C-EB, nominated by Shelly Schuler. “One of the examples of Aisleigh's generosity occurred at our last compliment party. She brought a beverage and a little bag of Takis just in case someone didn't bring a snack. She is also generous with her time. She always helps clean up the room.” (NOT PICTURED)
⭐Kylie Chasing Hawk, Grade 3rd, C-EB, nominated by Dee Anne Ducheneaux. “Kylie Chasing Hawk oozes generosity on a daily basis. Her artistic skills are on display through our classroom. After specials, she hosts a small group of classroom peers and shares her sketching talents. Offering them direction, ideas, and compliments on their designs. Her artistic generosity speaks to her giving freely of her talents and offering help without being asked. Kylie and her class miss their art class special the 2nd semester, but are continually looking to grow expressively and creatively through their artwork.”
Wopila Tanka to the school staff for your nominations and to the students for deserving them! Follow us to see next month’s winners and continue celebrating the Lakota values in our schools!

C-EB 6th Grade Natural Helpers had a big meeting last night with special guest Summer Dupree from the CRST Lakota Cultural Center! As part of this year’s Natural Helper Lakota Affirmation Coloring Book, Summer helped translate and teach the students a set of affirmations. Students then spent the evening creating their own coloring pages to include in the book.
These finished books will be printed and handed out to students in April, when the Natural Helpers host the Easter Bunny for grades 2–6.
It’s hard to believe the school year is already nearing its end, but you can still expect big things from these students before May arrives!
