Congratulations to Our February Good Relative Award Winners! In partnership with The Keya Foundation we work to recognize our students on a monthly basis!
February’s theme celebrated students who showed prayer this month. These students were nominated by school staff from Cheyenne-Eagle Butte (C-EB) for prayer! Winners were selected by grade through a Spin-the-Wheel tool. Please join us in congratulating and feel free to tag family members of students listed to share in the recognition of their exemplary qualities!
⭐Wicahpi Ta Iyukcan win Thunderhawk, Grade 2nd, C-EB, nominated by Wanikiya win Loud Hawk. “She makes sure she plays with students that are playing by themselves.”
⭐LaRyah Jordan, Grade 3rd, C-EB, nominated by Hanna Barbosa. “I want to nominate LaRyah in recognition of her strong character and leadership. She demonstrates a deep understanding of our Lakota values and thoughtfully shared with our class the meaning and practice of Chekiya (prayer). She consistently shows gratitude toward her classmates and serves as a positive role model in our classroom community. She is always willing to help others and carries herself with respect, integrity, and kindness.”
⭐Robin Waloke, Grade 4th, C-EB, nominated by Helen Casey. “She respects everyone, expresses gratitude, compassion, and is more focused with her studies. She believes and values prayer.”
⭐Raegen Bowman, Grade 5th, C-EB, nominated by Mr. Logg, “By her gratitude and deep reflection while doing her work. Always a quiet, shy student but when her work is finished, it shows the honoring of traditions and family.”

Congratulations! UE is proud to announce the students who will represent C-EB Upper Elementary at the 2026 County Spelling Bee in Faith on March 18th. We wish them the best of luck at the competition.

Alexa and Bella Anderson shared Valentine cards and wishes with their mom, Brittney Uses The Knife who is stationed in Germany. 6th grade, 4th grade and 3rd grade students created cards to share with Brittney and other military service personnel. Thank you to all Military service members from C-EB Upper Elementary.

CEB 6th Grade Natural Helpers had a busy meeting this week! Kicking off with plans for their Selfie Station for the Wakpa Waste Tiospaye Committee, finalizing plans for the upcoming Cansasa Harvest, and decorating the circle area in honor of Pink Shirt Day February 13th! Natural Helpers asked classes in 2nd-6th grade to help them design shirts to spread messages of kindness, and they did a great job! Be sure to wear pink on February 13th in support of Anti-Bullying Awareness💟Students wearing pink will be receive Braves Bucks just as they would for Braves attire this day.

He knows the importance of education and strives to attend school each day. His homework is completed and he's ready to learn. Kassian is willing to share an answer even if he's unsure if it's 100 percent correct. Modeling his courage to speak and learn from mistakes as we go is a solid combination. Kassian has been as asset to our class and is truly a Good Relative.”
⭐Joshua Lawrence, Grade 4th, C-EB, nominated by Jalisa Cruz. “Joshua is wise beyond his years. Slow to react and really thinks things through. Always understanding things from both perspectives. He learns from his mistakes, but also helps others from making the same mistake. He is calm, gentle, and wise.”
