2nd Grade students enjoyed their field trip to Pierre to visit the Discovery Center, McDonald's, and the park. They became astronauts, scientists, explorers, veterinarians, cooks, bakers, and all the learning centers that were offered, were well filled with laughter, relationship building, and imaginations. Thank You Pierre Discover Center for enhancing our imaginations beyond the classroom, our bus driver, for getting us safely and timely to our destinations, Pierre McDonald's for the delicious lunch and ice cream, our teachers for guiding us safely through the trip and transitions, and kitchen staff for the road trip snacks. Wopila Tanka to all for planning our field trip, we had a fun day together in the beautiful sun.

The C-EB 6th Grade Natural Helpers youth program held their final meeting of the school year! 🎉
They spent their time together finalizing plans for their End-of-Year Banquet and upcoming trip, while also celebrating an amazing year filled with growth, leadership, friendship, and memories. The group enjoyed fun games, treats, and quality time together as we wrapped up another successful year! 🤍
We would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our teacher advisors, Ms. Sianna Moran and Ms. Rebecca Afraid of Hawk, for their dedication, to the program throughout the year. And of course, thank you to our community partners, The Keya Foundation Inc, for continuing to collaborate with us to make this program possible for our youth.

Congratulations to Our April Good Relative Award Winners! In partnership with The Keya Foundation we work to recognize our students on a monthly basis!

April’s theme celebrated students who showed role modeling this month. These students were nominated by school staff from Cheyenne-Eagle Butte (C-EB) for role modeling! Winners were selected by grade through a Spin-the-Wheel tool. Please join us in congratulating and feel free to tag family members of students listed to share in the recognition of their exemplary qualities!

⭐Julianna Hale, Grade 2nd, Cheyenne-Eagle Butte, nominated by Jody Walters. “Julianna tries hard to help others whenever needed. She works hard on everything she does.”

⭐Hanwi Blue Coat, Grade 4th, Cheyenne-Eagle Butte, nominated by Kennedy Bush. “Hanwi is a great role model for her peers because of her kindness and strong character. She treats others with respect, makes good choices, and is always willing to help those around her. Hanwi takes responsibility for her learning, asks thoughtful questions, and consistently shows what it means to be a caring and dependable member of the classroom.” (not picture)

Other students who were nominated for role modeling: Gage Roulliard, Justina Chips, Zandria Cadotte, and Khaos Looking Horse

Wopila Tanka to the school staff for your nominations and to the students for deserving them!

Thank you to our 4th grade students for their meaningful efforts in honoring Earth Day. They demonstrated pride and responsibility by helping pick up trash and contributing to the cleanliness of our school and community. Their enthusiasm and commitment to making a positive impact were evident throughout the day. Students were also excited about adopting a garter snake as a class pet but he whisked away with other plans.

The C-EB 6th grade Natural Helpers hosted The Canli Coalition of CRST this past week for 5th and 6th grade students, bringing an interactive and engaging learning experience to their school through the “Escape the Vape” vaping prevention escape room.
Students worked together in teams to solve puzzles and complete challenges, all while learning about the harmful physical effects of vaping. Along the way, they explored real-life scenarios, built awareness, and discussed practical ways and reasons to say no to vaping. Afterwards students were called to action to create anti-vaping posters based on what they learned!
The activity created a fun, hands-on environment that encouraged teamwork, critical thinking, and open conversation. It was a great opportunity for students to learn important health information in a way that felt exciting and meaningful, while also empowering them to make positive choices for their well-being. This marks the second year in a row that the Natural Helpers program has partnered with the Canli Coalition to bring prevention education to their peers. We are grateful for our speakers and partners at the Canli Coalition for their continued dedication and impactful work in our communities.
